   Reverend Merlene Barner

Hailing from Belle Plaine, Kansas, Pastor Merlene graduated from Iliff School of Theology and was ordained as an Elder in 1994.  As a student and after ordination, she served in many Colorado communities, including Walden, Hygiene, Wray, and Brighton before coming to Niwot UMC in July 2006.  She is currently the chairperson of the Commission on Archives and History for the United Methodist Rocky Mountain Conference.  In January, 2006 she completed the Two Year Academy for Spiritual Formation at the Oblate Center in San Antonio, TX, and found her time there to be deeply enriching. She enjoys reading and spending time with her two grown children and their young families.
