Nursery Attendant

Position: Nursery Attendant, Niwot United Methodist Church

Job Description: The Nursery Attendant (NA) is responsible for the care of children five years of age and under on Sunday mornings at Niwot United Methodist Church, including:

1. Keeping the children safe at all times.

2. Encouraging the children in constructive play or other activities within the nursery.

3. Cleaning up accidents, checking and changing diapers as needed, picking up the toys, and depositing soiled or drooly toys in the white basket provided for this purpose.

4. Alert a contact person if an incident occurs.

5. Full attention should be given to the children. Therefore, personal calls and text messaging are not appropriate while on duty.

6. Basic First Aid Class for Infants and Small Children must be completed by NA within three months of hiring. Church will cover fee.

7. Age 18 or older

Compensation: Hourly, $10.00. When children are in attendance, NA will be paid for 1-1/2 hours. If no children are in the nursery, NA may leave at 10:15 and will be compensated for one hour of time. NA will be responsible for all tax obligations.

Hours: Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:45 or until all children have left the nursery. If NA is unable to attend, notify a member of SPPR two days prior, or as soon as possible so arrangements can be made.

Time Card: Time Cards are located in the Nursery. Card needs to completed each week and left with Melissa Klein, the Administrative Assistant or on her desk.

Benefits: None, including no insurance, retirement plan or paid vacation/sick leave.

Contract: May be terminated by either Niwot United Methodist Church or by the employee with two weeks notice.
