Key Chain for St. Francis Prayer

This bead string fits nicely into the palm of your hand, providing a reminder to pray throughout the day, when you're about to drive or open/close a door.  Jennifer Hayes made it to help her remember the first part of St. Francis's prayer for peace.

Lord , make me an instrument of thy...

A large crystal, representing the light and love of the Lord.

Peace

A golden charm with the word Peace inscribed.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love

Heart-shaped snowflake obsidian

Where there is injury, let me sow pardon

Fushite ruby--a black streak symbolizes injury in the beautiful blue-green stone and the lighter parts signify pardon.

Where there is doubt, let me sow faith

Unakite cross--the primary symbol of the Christian faith—the dark parts of the stone represent doubt and the lighter edges show faith breaking through the darkness of doubt.

Where there is despair, let me sow hope

Venetian Murano glass bead--this one is clear with a black (despair) and silver/gold center (hope).

Where there is sadness, let me sow joy

Another Venetian Murano glass bead, with striated bands of burgundy, grays, and browns.  Sadness is represented by the mixture of reds and black, with joy coming through in the lighter pinks and white.

Amen.

The lovely diamond-shaped crystal signifies God—the crystal begins and ends this prayer strand.
